Earthquake strikes near Wildomar

An earthquake registering 3.9 in magnitude struck near Wildomar and Murrieta on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

WILDOMAR - An earthquake measuring 4.0 in magnitude struck 1.2 miles east of Wildomar at 1:21 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The quake was felt by residents in Temecula, Hemet, Murrieta, and surrounding cities and as far away as Fontana and Fallbrook.

According to the USGS, the quake originated at a depth of 14 kilometers.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
