TEMECULA - Nineteen people were arrested on Tuesday, Sept. 3 when members of special teams of the Riverside County Sheriff's Department's Southwest Station conducted an operation aimed at reducing criminal activity in the business and retail areas of Temecula.

"The operation was a zero-tolerance effort focused on improving the quality of life for patrons, business owners and citizens of Temecula," wrote Sergeant Robert Menchaca in a report. "The operation resulted in 36 citations issued and of those, 19 subjects were booked into jail for various criminal violations."

Sgt. Menchaca reported that the Homeless Outreach Team "conducted a successful outreach during the operation placing an individual in a drug rehabilitation center."

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said if you suspect any criminal activity is occurring in your area, contact the Riverside County Dispatch Center at (951) 776-1099 or the Southwest Station at (951) 696-3000.
